Fuji Feather 2011 Review

Fuji began in 1899 and was named after the Japanese symbol of strength, Mount Fuji, and with this aim in mind it is understandable why the company is still a leading manufacturer today. With over a hundred years of experience, Fuji have produce some the best bikes to date and the Fuji Feather 2011 is a shining example of Fuji’s creativity and dedication. The Fuji Feather possesses a list of specifications that will impress any cyclist and is the envy of other manufacturers.

Based on the previous Fuji Feather model, the updated 2011 has been tweaked and improved to make it extremely unique when compared to other urban bikes. The feather features a rigid steel frame, which showed no flex or bends whilst testing at high speeds, and provided an efficient amount of energy transfer between cyclist and the wheel, while the butted steel frame provides a smoother ride over imperfect surfaces, making it extremely comfortable compared to other urban bikes. The bike includes Wellgo Road w/clips and straps to ensure that the cyclist’s feet stay in place at all times, even when riding out of seat during steep inclines. Also featured are Promax RC-452 Alloy brake sets on both the front and rear, and tests indicated that these specially designed brake sets provides the rider with a responsive and effective braking system, the rear wheel brake make the Feather ideal for commuting.

Moreover, with a Tange Levin 1 headset, the bike provides excellent steering capabilities. Undoubtedly, the Feather is one of the most versatile bikes to date; the Feather features a fixed-gear making it a fantastic road bike that can also be used on the track. Another fantastic element of the bike which makes it a perfect commuting bike is its light weight, our testers found it easy to carry as well as to ride up hills. The Feather is available with minimal graphics and in a wide range of ‘stealth’ colours including red, white, sparkling grey and black creating a sleek look and when coupled with high quality components it guarantees that the Feather is the number one race bike.
