Cube Streamer 2012 Review

Although Cube are best known for building mountain bikes, in recent years the company have expanded and begun to create and produce a wide variety of bikes, including a number of creative road bikes. Cube have quickly developed a reputation for creating road racing bikes that are ideal for both professional riders as well as enthusiast cyclists who want to enjoy training and commuting on a high quality machine. One of Cube’s most well received road racing bikes is the Cube Streamer, a bike designed specially for training, but possesses the qualities to excel in racing conditions.

The frame of the Cube Streamer is constructed using Superlite 7005 AMF doubled butted aluminium, using Cube’s One Piece Design technique. This unique construction technique, which is only used by Cube, ensures the joints of the frame are carefully finished in order to create the impression of a seamless frame. This method also ensures high load bearing, which further enhances the strength of the bike. Attached to the Streamers aluminium frame is a Dedacciai DBHT Black Hole Technology carbon fork, using this rigid material further strengthens the front end of the Streamer guaranteeing that the bike corners perfectly at every speed. The Cube Streamer features a number of technological designs, in particular Cube’s Ready For Race geometric design, this unique plan is tailored by Cube to each bike to ensure rider safety and comfort. Another technological design found on the Streamer is Cube’s Aero Flex Stays, a specific seat stay that ensures a high level of comfort to the rider.

Cube have placed a number of premium components on the Streamer, in particular Cube have combined the best features Shimano’s Ultegra and 105 groupsets, for example Ultegra shifters and brakes are combined with a Shimano 105 crankset and cassette. This unique combination creates a groupset that is ideal for training, but can still help enhance a rider’s performance during competitive racing. The Cube Streamer is a great option for riders searching for the perfect balance of comfort and power and will undoubtedly be one of Cube’s best road racing models.
